About Me

Hi, I’m Alyssa Johnson a Community Health Worker in the Gastroenterology Intestinal Rehabilitation outpatient clinic. I have a bachelor's degree in public health, and I am Master of Public Health (MPH) student specializing in Healthcare Administration. I’m deeply passionate about transforming healthcare systems to be more equitable, accessible, and patient-centered—especially for underserved populations.

This blog began as part of my graduate coursework in HCA 626: Healthcare Information Systems, evolving into a platform  aimed to explore how digital health tools can bridge care gaps, empower patients, and improve public health outcomes.

My goal is to create policies that ensure patients and families have access to—and education about—resources that reduce and address health-related social needs. I want to develop strategic and tactical approaches to identify best practices, standardize workflows, and propose actionable plans to improve systems. I aim to manage capital and operational budgets effectively, ensuring that public health policies prioritize safety, affordability, quality, satisfaction, and access.

Long term, I hope to collaborate with patients, nurses, physicians, and researchers to design and implement data-informed business plans, measure performance, and drive sustainable improvements in healthcare delivery. I know I have a long journey ahead, but I’m confident I’m on the right path—and I’m excited to share what I learn along the way.

Whether you're a fellow student, health professional, or someone passionate about the future of  public health, I hope you’ll find inspiration and insight here.
